What it checks
Type the words and multi-word phrases you want to track and get their count, percentage and classical density.
The most frequent words after noise words, numbers and short words are removed, with the limits you choose.
Words with the same stem counted together, so “design”, “designs” and “designed” show as one topic.
How closely the word distribution matches natural language. Stuffed or spun text scores low.
How to read it
Paste the body copy of a page, add the one or two phrases the page targets, and run it. A target phrase between 1 and 3 percent with its related words in the top ten is a healthy page. Anything over 4 or 5 percent reads as stuffed to Google and to readers.
In natural language the most common word appears about twice as often as the second, three times as often as the third, and so on. Text written for readers follows the curve; text written to hit a density target does not. The naturalness score compares your text’s curve to the expected one.
