Keyword Clusterer

What it checks

What the Keyword Clusterer looks at

Group by shared word

Phrases that share their most distinctive word form one group, the way keyword clustering services work.

Group by similarity

Within each group, phrases are merged when they share at least the percentage of words you set. 90 percent is strict; 50 percent is loose.

Minus and plus words

Drop phrases containing minus words; keep only phrases containing at least one plus word.

Volume column

Add a volume after each keyword, separated by a tab, comma or space, and the clusters show totals.

How to read it

From clusters to pages

From clusters to pages

Each cluster is usually one page: the phrases in it are the page’s target, its H2s and its FAQ. A cluster with high total volume and clear commercial intent is a service page; a cluster of questions is a guide. Clusters with one phrase each either need a looser similarity setting or are genuinely one-off searches.

FAQ

Questions about this tool

Anything else? (970) 399-9004 reaches a person in Fort Collins, not a call center.

How is the shared word chosen?

Each phrase is split into words; the word that appears in the most phrases becomes the group name, and phrases are assigned to the most frequent word they contain.

What does the similarity percentage mean?

The share of words two phrases have in common. At 90 percent only near-duplicates merge; at 50 percent “buy red shoes” and “red shoes online” merge.

Can I cluster in languages other than English?

Yes. The grouping is based on the words you paste, in any language.

Is the list uploaded?

No. Clustering runs in your browser and the CSV is generated there too.
